Yep, it's that time of year again: RSD Black Friday 2025 is November 28th from 8AM to 9PM at all three We Got the Beats locations (Lauderhill, Oakland Park, and the brand new Dania Beach store.)
Most of you know the drill by now, but for those who are new to celebrating Record Store Day with us, here is a refresher so you have the best possible experience:
RSD merchandise will be alphabetized by first name, or by the first word of the title of soundtracks and 'various artists' compilations. If you come into the stores between now and then, we should be able to give you a general idea of how the layout will go.
We distribute wristbands in advance of Record Store Day if you want to shop before our usual opening time and get the best shot at the hard to get titles. This way, we don't have folks sleeping outside overnight or waking up super early, dealing with weather, etc. (Before we started doing wristbands, fans were camping out starting around 4PM the day before these events to get a good place in line!)
Wristbands will be available both in-store and online beginning at noon on November 17, and each wristband will give you a designated time to come in and start shopping.
We'll begin distributing wristbands on Monday, November 17 at noon. This will give you more time to pick up your wristband in advance, and as always, you have access to all our Black Friday sales starting the day you pick up your band, and for the entire time through Black Friday! (Specific sales TBA as the date approaches.) (You may also pick up your wristband on the morning of the event.)
Wristband Specifics:
On Monday, November 17, beginning at noon (we open at 11:00AM) you may come in to either store to get a wristband. (No purchase necessary.)
In-Person Wristbands:
You just go up to the counter at or after 12 noon on Monday, November 17, or any day thereafter, ask for a wristband, reach into a grab bag, and you will randomly get a numbered wristband within the earliest available hour and see where you are in line. (This makes lining up a little less important, and deters vinyl flippers because they can't guarantee they'll be first in line.) We'll pick in groups, starting with the 8 am timeslot and proceeding from there. (Note: some numbers from each timeslot are reserved for online requests.) Once the first group has all been picked, we'll start the second group. We will continue picking the groups until we have given away all available wristbands as late as 10:30AM. If you don't get a wristband to come in by 10:30AM, anyone can come in without one starting at our normal opening time of 11AM.
Please do not show up before 11AM without a wristband and expect to walk right in. Without a wristband, you may line up as early as 10:30AM to enter at 11AM.
Online Wristbands:
While there will be an advantage to coming into the store to get your wristband (you are more likely to get a better number that way) - within each time slot, some will go to people who email us at a designated email address (email address to be announced on Facebook and Instagram before distribution day, so keep an ear out). This is meant for folks who cannot come into the store mid-day on a Monday, or the folks who live far away and can't drive over just to get a wristband, etc.
When you send an email to the designated address, you will get an automated response with a form asking which store you wish to attend, how many people are in your party and their names, etc. Submit that form, and you are entered into the queue for a wristband. We will email you back with your wristband number within 24-48 hours, depending on how busy we are. Please do not submit through a form or email response from a previous year. We're using a new one this year, and every year from now on. If we cannot match up an email request to a form response, we will have to move on to the next request, and you will end up towards the back of the line. Please do not expect a response immediately, and do not submit requests more than once.
Note: the email address method will only be available on day one, Monday, November 17 until close of business, 9PM. After that, you may call in, come in, text, or DM as we will no longer monitor the special email address mailbox.
We have a good bit of RSD stock coming in, as always. We can still add some stock, or at least request more, so you're welcome to remind us of your wants, especially if they are more obscure.
Obviously, for the big names, we try to get as many as we're able. If you like an artist who is a little more off the beaten path, we may not have ordered many - so, if you let us know, we may be able to increase our orders.
Please keep in mind we never get as much as what we order (neither does any other store in the country) given that RSD titles are often made in limited quantities. We will post the full list of titles titles with prices very soon, and we'll be sharing the quantities in which we'll be obtaining them as it's revealed to us closer to the event.
Just like previous years, per RSD rules, the soonest we can put remaining stock on our website is the next morning. (8am on Saturday, November 29).
As always, expect some of our famous RSD blowouts on the day of the event.
Lining up: We encourage you to line up 30 minutes before your scheduled shopping time (except for the 8AM group.) Line up in order of your wristband numbers. Be friendly and kind. There is a very good chance we will be able to get you in before your scheduled time because people from an earlier group may leave quickly.
With a few exceptions, it's not going to make a huge difference if you come in at 8 or at 9, etc. The biggest mistake we see folks make is counting how many people are ahead of them in line, doing the math, and thinking, "I'll never get an [insert artist name here] because they "only" have 50, and I'm number 159 in line." We may think everyone likes what we like, but many of the people ahead of you in line have different favorites, and no interest in the one record you're after the most! We've seen many unclaimed wristbands from people who thought their number was too high, and then when we open to the general public at 11am, the items they wanted were still available.
Have patience. Have fun. Again, be kind to the other people in line. Don't try to cut. People have become good friends standing in our RSD lines over the last 15 years! You're all in line because you love music, and especially, vinyl! Special people stand in those lines, and we have a good time.
And be kind to our staff. Early in the day, before everyone with a wristband has come through, we are going to limit you to one of each title. Later in the day, we can be more flexible. (We obviously want to sell stuff, but we're not trying to feed ebay flippers. We can sell things on ebay ourselves, at better prices. Better yet, we can sell them on our own site the next morning.)
If you have any remaining questions, our DM's and phone lines are always open, or we can always give an answer in-store!
